R&P – Know any good "bar bands" (plus BQ’s)?

Hey, what’s up R&P? Know any good bar bands I should check out? You know, stuff like Hold Steady… Even some older stuff like the E-Street Band? Thanks in advance for any good suggestions.

MQ – Favorite David Bowie Song?
MQ-2 – What did you think about the Ziggy Star story? Did it move you?
(Yes, I’m listening to Davie Bowie right now…)

BQ – Do you have any pets?
BQ-2 – Have you played "No More Heroes" (Wii)? I never see video games mentioned here.
Hey Mr. Tambourine man! So ‘nice’ (cough) to see you.

I gotta admit man, I expected a bit more from you. You seemed like you wanted to get back at me for "insulting" you on one of your questions, but you couldn’t seem to bring yourself to pass up giving me some of your incredibly enlightening knowledge! "John, I’m Only Dancing"? Really?! I would never have guessed! Thanks for telling me!!

THAT’S sarcasm.

If you’re gonna be sarcastic, at least go all the way. Otherwise, it makes the whole thing seem half-hearted and, frankly, lame. And ending the whole thing with a smiley face? Were you were afraid of hurting my feelings by being too serious or, God-forbid, angry? Trust me, I’ll be crying myself to sleep tonight. Or maybe you were worried your wife (bestest lady in the world? I gotta agree. Ow ow!) would see this? Dictator b*tch to the resuce! You’ll be sleeping on the couch for weeks, right? Don’t worry, I could always take your place in the bed :-0.
@ Sal Paradise
Unfortunately, I currently listen to every single band you mentioned (although many ARE excellent bands). I was hoping for a bit more obscure (or old) stuff because I know a lot of the semi-mainstream stuff already. Any thing else you know of?

And yeah, No More Heroes rocks; you’ll want to look into it.
@Riki

If you’re making fun of me, it’s going over my head… In that case, I’ll assume you’re being completely serious. Good approach?

And yeah, I’ve seen GHIII and Rock Band questions, but aside from those, nothing. Think it has anything to do with this being a rock and pop section?
@ everyone

The story of Ziggy Star? Off Ziggy Stardust? The concept album?

Dunno why it posted that twice, sorry.
Tool? Since when? ;-) ? A wrinkled face? No man, this is a wink. You know, a wink between men as a sort of apology for what I’m about to do…
I dare you to ask why it posted your "edit" response 14 times.

There isn’t a whole lot of great older stuff unfortunately…it seems to have died out with Born In The U.S.A. However, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes is about as close you’re going to get to E Street without actually being there, so I’d look at them.

ugh..so, beyond the greatest bar band in the world which is the Hold Steady, there is a variety of options.
-The Gaslight Anthem are more Springsteen wannabes who sprinkle their songs with references to obscure literary characters and poets. They have a more punk edge than THS, but are fine substitute. Their last album, The ‘59 Sound, was one of the best of last year.
-The Raconteurs could be a great bar band if Jack White starts seeing a good psychiatrist. Take the better half of Consolers Of The Lonely, slap on "Steady As She Goes" and add a couple of White Stripes songs circa Elephant.
-The Black Keys’s last release, Attack And Release, is currently on my "to get" list. The stuff I’ve heard from it has been uniformly great, especially "Strange Times". Get "Stay All Night" if you can also.

MQ: "Heroes"
MQ2: No
BQ: used to
BQ2: No, but I might check it out because I have a Wii

I’m sure I saw this question written in hieroglyphics in a pyramid 3000 years ago.

It’s questions like this that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs!

    MA. John, I’m Only Dancing
    MA2. Beetroot!

BA. Yes, but my vet is not a vet!!!
BA2. It’s questions like this that are killing the gaming industry.

    EDIT.

To be honest, I was just seeing if you’d bite or if you were mature enough to rise above it. ;-) <<< what does the winking face mean in your psychoanalysis of me???

    EDIT:

Maybe it posted twice because you’re a tit!

    (Just maybe)

Don’t apologise, you were probably born a tit.

Let’s just cut to the chase, you either come out of that closet and kiss me or stop flirting. Riki’s waiting for me round the back of the bikeshed.
