Start with Hoi Sin sauce, and just go through your cupboards…
We normally end up with hoi sin, soya sauce, vinegar, garlic, various spices or herbs…
The easiest way is to smell it constantly : ) if it smells good, it should taste good!

Micky’s Sticky Licky Sweet n Zesty BBQ Sauce
This is a delicious homemade recipe that has been in my families for years. We use this recipe for grilling ribs, chicken, steak and even stirfry! I guarantee this is what your looking for just by reading your question. Oh and it is not spicey!
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons butter
1/8 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute onion, celery and garlic until soft and translucent. Stir in ketchup, lemon juice, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and pepper. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.

The following is for 2 servings with 1lb of ribs
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of ketchup
1tablespoon of soy sauce
1tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 table spoon of rum
2 tablespoons of chili sauce
1/2 clove of crushed garlic
1/4 teaspoon of dry mustard
dash of ground black pepper
Cook the ribs in double wrapped foil for about 11/2hours at 175c pour the sauce over the ribs and marinate overnight in fridge or at room temp. for about 2 hours and then cook or BBQ for a further 30mins basting with the sauce. Really yummy
