What mesquite sauce or barbecue sauce taste like the barbecue sauce on lays barbecue potato chips?

Posted by admin on March 8th, 2010 and filed under barbecue sauce | 2 Comments »

I love lays barbecue potato chips specifically the taste of the barbecue sauce. However I am now eating a healthier diet so I can no longer eat potato chips but I would still like to buy a barbecue or mesquite sauce at the grocery store or online that tastes similar to the barbecue sauce on lays barbecue potato chips. Is there any sauce I can buy to put on my my lean chicken, baked potato, etc. that has a similar flavor to the barbecue sauce on lays potato chips?

KC Masterpiece. It used to be labeled that way right on the bag of Lays. I suggest original.

How long does homemade barbecue sauce last with refrigeration?

Posted by admin on March 6th, 2010 and filed under barbecue sauce | 3 Comments »

If it has vinegar in it, it should last for at least 2-3 weeks. If in doubt, bring it to a boil and boil for 3-4 minutes before using.

where do you find the expiration date on a bottle of open pit barbecue sauce?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under barbecue sauce | 7 Comments »

I have no idea how old this bottle is and I don’t want anyone getting sick. No where on the bottle due I see a date. Even if you can get me an 800# to call the company.

Look on the back on the neck of the bottle there should be either a date or a code with #’s . Or check the bottom of the bottle. If you find it or dont call the # on the bottle and ask them where you can find it.

Any tips on crockpotting barbecue sauce and boneless beef ribs?

Posted by admin on February 28th, 2010 and filed under barbecue sauce | 1 Comment »

A few years ago I tried and it was too watery and didn’t pick up the flavor. Last year I tried and it got very very dark and unrecognizable. I have some to try again tomorrow and would really like for them to turn out! Please let me know if you have any tips!

I have researched some on the internet and I found two different recipes. This might help you. One recipe is for beef ribs as requested – the other one is for pork BBQ. Maybe you can just modify the recipes a little as you need them.

BEEF SHORT RIBS

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 pounds beef short ribs
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 slice onion, sliced
1/2 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup chile sauce
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons flour, salt, and pepper. Coat the short ribs with the flour mixture.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown short ribs in olive oil.
In a slow cooker, combine onions, wine, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and chili powder. Mix thoroughly. Transfer the short ribs from the skillet to the slow cooker.
Cover, and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove ribs, and turn the slow cooker control to High. Mix the remaining 2 tablespoons of flour with 1/4 cup water, and stir into the sauce. Cook for 10 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

BBQ PORK RIBS

1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons chili sauce
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 pounds country style pork ribs
1 onion, sliced into rings
1 red bell pepper, cut into rings

In a bowl, mix the ketchup, chili sauce, water, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Dijon mustard, chili powder, garlic powder, celery seed, black pepper, and brown sugar.
Place the pork ribs in a slow cooker, and layer with onion and red bell pepper. Pour sauce into the slow cooker.
Cover, and cook 8 hours on Low.

nothing spicy just really nice and thick, great for ribs or stirfrys!

anything really ?

Equal amounts of honey, sweet chilli sauce & soy sauce.
Very thick, sweet & tasty. Also great on chicken wings!
